HobbyBoss 1/48 Ka-27 Naval Helicopter

listed as coming this year from Hobby Boss, the Ka-27 Naval Helicopter. Developed for the Soviet Navy, and currently in service in various countries including Russia, Ukraine, Vietnam, People’s Republic of China, Republic of South Korea and India.
This Kamov made helicopter was developed for ferrying and anti-submarine warfare. Design work began in 1969 and the first prototype flew in 1973. It was intended to replace the Kamov Ka-25, and is similar in appearance to its predecessor due to the requirements of fitting in the same hangar space. Like other Kamov military helicopters it has coaxial rotors, removing the need for a tail rotor.

This kit (No. 81739) is from a new mold and has photo etched parts. Total length is 11 inches (28cm) )with a rotor diameter of 13 inches (33.2cm).

So as promised here we go with our first aircraft announcement for 2015! 1:48 Sea Harrier FRS.1! Probably not a huge surprise, but a very welcome release for most! More on this release as it becomes available. Targeting late 1st Quarter / early 2nd for release! Those that have already built the FA.2 love the kit and the quality of the build, so we’re guessing this one will be even more popular!

This is my design of the kit box with Katerina Borecka’s boxart. This edition is based on the Hasegawa plastic parts, including Eduard Brassin seats (2 types), color photo-etched details, painting mask and Cartograf-printed decals for five Bundesluftwaffe’s F-104 marking options.

ZVEZDA

Zvezda has posted an image showing some of the planned releases in 2015. In 1/35 scale there looks to be another option for a Terminator and T-35. There will also be King Tiger, GAZ M1, and a modern figure set. In 1/72 scale there will be a modern T-90 tank.

Dragon 1/35 6813 Pz.Beob.Wg.V Ausf.D Early Production

Dragon Models has announced a Pz.Beob.Wg.V Ausf.D. This is a variant of the German Panther tank that was used as an observation post. The tank mounted a dummy gun to allow for more room in the turret for radio equipment. The kit from Dragon will include newly molded turret roof, star antenna and more.
